Following on from Friday’s winning tip, tonight there is another similarly themed one for you. Tonight the Milwaukee Bucks head to Denver to face the Nuggets.
Denver is one of the toughest places to play in the NBA, with the Pepsi Center sitting at an altitude of 5280 feet or one mile. The thinner air at altitude makes the game harder for players than at any other arena in the league. The Nuggets capitalise on this and currently hold a 6-1 home record (they won 30 of their 41 home games last season). On top of the altitude advantages, Denver have their strongest team in years and look set for a tilt at a top playoff seed.
Compounding this, the Bucks are entering tonight’s game off the back of a game last night in Los Angeles against the Clippers. Milwaukee managed to force overtime in the game, but ended up losing to a Lou Williams floater after the additional five minutes of play. This is sure to have been physically and emotionally draining on Giannis Antetokounmpo and co. Along with the fatigue of last night’s game and the addition of overtime, the Bucks have had to travel to Denver from the West Coast – losing an hour in the process. Milwaukee should be knackered.
This is a game I’ve had ear marked for a while now due to the difficulty of playing in Denver in a second leg of a back-to-back and that the Nuggets have played just the one game in the last three days compared to the Bucks’ two. In a way it’s a shame about the addition of overtime in last night’s game as it’s resulted in a shortened price for tonight’s game – but I still expect Denver to cover the -3.5 handicap tonight at 2.00 (evens) on the Betfair Exchange. For this reason I’m recommending the first double stake of the season, have a 2pt bet on this if you’re feeling as brave as I am! Although tempting to go for an alternative handicap of -4.5 or -5.5, the added risk isn’t worth inflating the price from to 11/10 or 5/4 for me.
As regular readers will know, I can’t not back the double result in a game due to be affected by a team being fatigued. For this game, I’m going with the Bucks/Nuggets double result at 5/1 with Bet365 Milwaukee are the second-highest first half point scorers in the league, whilst the Nuggets languish in 21st despite having the same win-loss record. Milwaukee could start well and lead at the break, but I really can’t see them sustaining a lead. I’ll be having a small half stake flutter on this. Best of luck.
